30 Day Workout Challenge?

So for the past month or so, I've been trying to take myself more serious when it comes to getting healthier and in better shape. Granted I've been a vegetarian for almost a year now, I still haven't been eating as healthy as I'd like to be. I've been going to the gym but because of the high demand for my free-time from my job lately, I haven't been going as much as I'd like to. I made a vow to myself that I would be more dedicated with regular weekly workout sessions and and healthier meal choices.

We've had an issue at home with the gas in our stove so I haven't been able to cook much at home, leading to me having to buy food on the go. Not only is that harsh on my pant buckle, but it's also harsh on my wallet! It's been like this for weeks now! This week, it's finally getting fixed. *HAPPY DANCE* I can finally go back to cooking at home, which not only means that I'll be saving a buck or two, but I can also monitor what goes into my food and have the freshest of ingredients possible.

Last month, I decided to download an app that a co-worker told me about called "30 day Squat Challenge." I did it for....eh, MOST of the month... haha I'll admit it. I have moments where I get lazy.. but doing this challenge definitely gave some results! Although we all know it's highly unlikely, next to impossible, to lose weight in just one area, it's a great idea to add something like this to your daily regimen. I noticed more of a lift and definition to my cheekies and friends and co-workers have noticed! Feels good to have a more toned and lifted toosh, especially summer coming and the pool calling my name!

I've decided to start the challenge over and fully commit to all the challenges it has that day. I've also downloaded the "30 day Ab Challenge" app to ensure that I always get a liddo ab action too. I have a belly but for some reason, I always tend to neglect my tummy during workouts so I definitely can't forget this time. The apps are incredibly easy to use and I'm pretty sure the best thing about them is that they're FREE! Woo!

The apps look like the image up above. I found them in the Apple store on my iPhone but I'm sure you can find, if not the same thing, then something extremely similar in the Android Play store and Windows app store.

Every day, you go into the app to do your daily challenge of workouts. As you progress, the amount of reps for whatever you have to do that day will increase and decrease so that you don't plateau and don't worry, you get rest days too because your muscles need time to rest and recover. I'm going to add these app workouts into my weekly workout regimen.

I have to admit, after seeing the improvement after the first 30 days, I'm excited to see my results at the end of these next 30 days! Hopefully this time, I can remember to take pictures! haha. Would you try any challenges like these? Or have you already?? I'd love to know!

Shark bite Pumps!

Jeffrey Campbell released these awesome Audrey Spike High Heel Wedges some time ago. Gorgeous but I was not prepared to drop the money for such a hefty price.
There was also a release from Jeffrey Campbell with the same style in a nude color, minus the studs and a different detailing. OMG I wanted them but once again, it was a hefty price. Charlotte Russe release a near perfect, much more affordable look-alike and when I went to order them online, they were out of my size! *cries*
Months passed and I was sure I would just never find them again. Well, it just so happens that I was in the city the other night, running a muck as usual, and I came across a thrift store called Housing Works on the upper west side and took a look inside. Low and behold, I found some "shark bite" pumps! I've had my heart on the wedges for so long but let's be honest, when was I ever gonna find a pair like this again? They had them in black AND red in my size. The best part? They were only FIVE DOLLARS EACH.
I got them both, of course. Just comes to show, you find the best things when you least expect it.

Central Park Photo Diary

So the other day, me and my aunt decided to spend our day off from work enjoying the cool weather and beautiful scenery in Central Park. Living in New York does it's toll on you, so it's nice to get away and see some green when you can. So, we ate up lunch and headed out. We first arrived there right there in front of the Central Park Reservoir. Seriously, one of the prettiest views ever.
We later ended up in the North Meadow Baseball/Softball field area, soaking up plenty of the beautiful setting sun.
We stopped for a liddo snack (peanuts and almonds, yum!) and then made our way towards the Central Park Belvedere Castle. We've been here once last year. The architecture of this building is very romanesque. Silly me, I forgot to take a picture of the actual castle lol but trust me when I say it's gorgeous. One of my favorite places in Central Park!
It was starting to get dark so we left with a few last pictures...
It was such a beautiful day and it was most definitely relaxing. Nice to get away from all the concrete and street sounds. What do you do to get away from the hustle and bustles of daily life?
