MAC #35 Eyelash Dupe!

Hey beauties!
While I was shopping in Wal-Mart a few days ago, I saw the makeup isle and naturally I went to check out what's new. I fell upon a lash brand names Salon Perfect. I've never used any lashes from them but omg, they had a new style that looks EXACTLY like the MAC #35s! Another similar, yet slightly expensive brand of lashes is from a company called House of Lashes and they have an identical lash that goes by the name of Siren. I posted about these yesterday on my instagram.

The top left eyelashes are the MAC #35s and the top right are the House of Lashes Siren lashes. The also have a pair of lashes called Bambie that are similar. The bottom lashes are the golden beauties I found! They look identical right?!

The MAC eyelashes retail for $17 each. The House of Lashes Siren & Bambie eyelashes retail for $9 each. The Salon Perfect ones I found are only $3! Go to a Wal-Mart or your local beauty supply that has Salon Perfect lashes and stock up! I wore these for a full day and they were comfortable, lightweight and definitely add drama to your look.

As long as you take care of them, you can definitely get a good use of them! That's all for today!
Stay beautiful.

Cleopatra~

I recently stopped by Rite Aid and OH MY GOSH. I fell upon some halloween lashes in the beauty isle so of course, I got a few. These two caught my eye!

Using the cleopatra ones, this is the look I came up with.

I'm just wearing a black turtle neck shirt with a thrifted necklace. If you google Cleopatra or any type of Egyptian look, you always see a woman with straight, usually shoulder length, black hair. I decided to just put my hair up in a high bun because as you all know, I'm on a healthy hair journey so I won't touch the evil hot sticks of death! Haha. And YES, I'm just posing in my room because it was getting late to take pictures in great lighting but hey, when creativity hits you, you just go with it. I still think it looks good all together.

Products I Used:
Eyes
Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette
Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow (navajo)
Maybelline Define-A-Line Eye Pencil (teal blue)
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner (black)
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
MAC Fluidline (blacktrack)
Revlon Lipstick (private viewing)
Covergirl Lipstick (temptress)
Fright Night Lashes (cleopatra)

Face
L'oreal TruMatch Foundation (W5)
Revlon ColorStay Concealer (light/medium)
Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free Stick Foundation (toffee caramel)
Smashbox Photoset Finishing Powder (translucent)
Benefit Watts Up! Soft Focus Highlighter
Coastal Scents Contour Palette (dark brown & rose pink)

I posted a clip of the eye makeup application process on my Instagram so if you'd like to see that, check it out! (@unorthodoxkitty)

This was fun to create and you can definitely downplay it with toned down eyebrows, liner and less dramatic lashes for a fun party look!

Hope you guys have a great day!

Melissa.

Spooky Eyes! | Eyelid Art

A couple days ago, I posted on Instagram a video/pic collage of my eye. On said eye was my first attempt at what I like to call "eye art." Eye art has been quite a trend lately! I've been seeing pictures from MUA's and makeup lovers all over instagram! I've been dying to try this out so I set up shop and put in work! Halloween is coming up so naturally, I based my first look off of a spooky haunted house type of theme. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out, although I could definitely use more practice. But hey, practice makes perfect! If you want to see that vid, just click on my Instagram name in the sidebar (:

What are your thoughts on eye art? Do you love it? Hate it? Let me know!

Melissa.

Mini vacation to Florida ☀

So recently, I went to Florida for one of my best friend's wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous! I was her make-up artist and hairstylist. I was so happy to be a part of the process and I am truly happy for her and wish her the best on her new journey in marriage! I have some pictures here that I wanted to share with you guys taken from her wedding photographer, as well as a few of my own pictures!

It was an absolutely beautiful beach wedding. Definitely something from a movie! Have you guys gone out of town for any special events lately? Let me know down below. (:

Love & Rockets,
Melly
